Bloody Fun Day: A Game About Killing Cute Things

We’re excited to announce the release of the latest Urbansquall game: Bloody Fun Day. Take charge of the Reaper as you tear through legions of grotesque cuties and their diabolical offspring in this tactical puzzler. Wield 6 unique powers to cut down the adorable denizens of a world in which all cute things must die.
In Bloody Fun Day, you are the reaper, and you must slay red cuties in order to stay alive. Destroy the other cuties in your way to charge your powers of destruction, like the evil Eye Laser and the devastating Jump attack
The game was graciously sponsored by the good folks over at Kongregate. Play it there to compete in the 5-Level and Unlimited High Score leader boards.

We hope you enjoy Bloody Fun Day!

8/10 This was a very entertaining and fun game to play! I loved the special attacks you could use, they saved me lots of times! Pros: – The game wasn’t easy, nor was it too hard, that makes a perfect balance of what a game should be. – It had special attacks, which were very fun and it made you really use your brains before you made your next move! – It wasn’t a game that you could just mindlessly play, you should use your mind for this!
Cons: – The unlimited gameplay was maybe a bit too hard after level 5, maybe you should make the unlimited part a bit easier. – I think that you could work on the amount of posibilities in the game. For example, make more options than just up to lvl 5 and unlimited, it gets boring.
All in all, a very entertaining game

Great game guys! I would like to see a “Level 10 mode” and quality settings though. It tends to lag really bad after 20 minutes of play on my computer. Just allowing the quality settings on the right click menu should allow a lot of players better gameplay experiences.

I agree that a quality setting would be useful. I have a reasonably fast computer and the game tends to hang on me for a few seconds every 15-20 minutes. Also, I’d suggest adding a new power: warp — lets you warp your reaper to any space on the board. I had fun with this game and it took me a few hours to hit 100K in unlimited mode for the “hard” badge on kongregate.

Bloody fun day is both a very fun and highly addictive game. I can only think of two possible improvements.
The first is to add difficulty levels by changing the number of souls required to charge up a power.
The second is to give the reapers different special abilities. Perhaps something like the ability to hatch connected eggs for the female reaper, or if that is to powerful limit it to an area effect. For the child reaper I think a “cute” attack for him would be to throw a red ball in the air and then hit it with his scythe. You might have it land two spaces away and take out the creatures in the hex it lands in as well as all adjacent hexes.
While you’ll have to do a lot of work to balance the power of each reaper it will greatly add to the replay-ability of your game if you make their powers distinct.

I loved this game!
10/10
You guys should make a spin off of this game, except you should make the Reaper completely controllable!
Oh and whoever said it’s not greater than Resident Evil 5.
FAIL.
But Bloody Fun Day is an excellent game.
