Introduction to the Warmachine

The Warmachine is the newest unit in the Battalion Commander’s arsenal. It is a behemoth. By far the largest unit ever fielded in war. It is a moving city. An army by itself. A single Warmachine will cause an advancing enemy to halt and reconsider its assault. The Warmachine’s terrible Predator missiles shred through the thickest tank armor and pick all manner of targets out of the sky. The only thing enemy commanders fear more than the Warmachine’s attack is its ability to create units anywhere on the battlefield…

That Warmachine implies much larger maps than we conquered in Battalion Nemesis. Care to comment how large those maps will be?
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:54 pmurbansquall
Quite the contrary. The Warmachine actually encourages maps to be smaller. I will explain in more detail in upcoming weeks.

Hey Urbansquall. You gave a presentation about your job at my school on April 22nd. I was wondering if any of your games were programed in any language besides FlashActionScript. C++? Or Java?
April 22nd, 2009 at 4:54 pmurbansquall
Hey Jonathan!
All our games are in Flash. When we do multiplayer games we end up using a little bit of Java and Python to get things working, but we don’t ever use C++.

I dare to say that battallion nemesis is my all times favourite out of all games on kongregate, armorgames, arcadebomb, etc. I mean, Sonny or Gemcraft may be nice too. But they cant compete (IMO
).
Checking your site for news almost everyday. You rock.

Apologies on no updates for the last two weeks. I have a REALLY great update coming this week to make up for it.

The warmachine is pretty cool, but do you get to use multiple warmachines ever in any level of your new game?
May 23rd, 2009 at 2:43 pmconqerer2
I was just wondering if there will still be bases that allow you to build vehicles, instead of just using the Warmachine. Maybe you could also use the war machine to build buildings?

I can see how this unit could be useful in large and small maps. However it seems they would be overpowered in maps. If maps were allowed to be larger than the ones from the original Advance Wars (gba version) then the unit cap would logically go up. If this unit was relatively easy to produce, then several could be made, positioned at a few choke points, and produce cheap units as meatshields for ranged units to pick off main base defenses. Small maps would be the same excluding the fact that only one or two would be needed, as unoriginal small maps (which are most maps) mainly have only two different paths, such as a long road and a short forest between both HQ’s. How do you intend to keep this from being overpowered?
May 28th, 2009 at 5:09 pmurbansquall
The Warmachines are not built. They are placed by map designers.

ok i get that you have a new unit, but why stop with one!!! make different onesand also make a place where you can combine vehicles and make bigger stronger one that you can use in your arsonal. And while you are at it can you give all of your fans a rough release date. I am just itching to play it.
May 29th, 2009 at 11:31 amAaron
I totally want to play.
