Interface Improvements
Battalion: Arena isn’t just the latest installment for Battalion, it’s also the greatest. Urbansquall worked long hours polishing the interface for Battalion making the web’s best turn-based strategy game also the easiest to play. Enough talk, though. What have we fixed?
Building Advice
Not sure what units to produce with your awesome new Warmachine? Don’t worry about it, we’ve got you covered. When you open up the Build sub-menu from the Warmachine, you can see quickly, depending on your selected unit, what enemy forces it is strong and weak against. This isn’t a general list, either, it will tell you which of the actual enemy units on the field you need to attack or look out for with that unit. Pretty slick.
Ranged Targeting
Remember how you used to have to guess or count squares to figure out what units your ranged attackers could hit after they made their movement? No more! Your attack radius for ranged units will move with your mouse now as you plan your action, showing the units you’ll damage and the strength you can expect that attack to be.
Unit/Terrain Info

It’s a piece of cake to get info on the wide variety of units and terrains in Battalion now. There’s a convenient little strip along the bottom of your screen that will show you a brief description of the unit or terrain, its health and damage and the modifiers it supplies to your units. You need access to all this info to make the most of your combat units, and now it’s easier than ever.
Danger Indicator
There’s a lot of action in any game of Battalion. It’s a lot to keep track of. We’ve made it easier for you to better know your enemy. When you select any friendly unit for movement, watch the enemy forces as you decide where to move. Look for a yellow warning symbol over enemy units. Those are the forces that can attack your troops after you move them.
This is all just a taste of the many improvements we’ve made to Battalion. Play Battalion: Skirmish to get a taste of these new features… and get excited for Battalion: Arena, our multiplayer title coming VERY SOON.

it’s a great game. I personally just want more maps/scenarios, not more features, the games had a good balance.

I like the new interface, I played Battalion Skirmish and found the data on your vehicles strengths and weaknesses while building very useful. I also like the danger indicator, it helps find targets in range even when you’re fixing something… although, when I first played Skirmish I thought it showed best enemies to attack, but still it’s great:) Can’t wait for Battalion Arena!
