The New Map Editor
There are a lot of things that make for a good multiplayer game. Balanced combat. Cool units. Nice interface. I could keep going on and on. What you need for it to become truly great, though, is something to give it legs, something to make it fun for a long time. How do you do that for Battalion? Other than having the most awesome multiplayer warriors on the net duking it out all the time: map editor.

Battalion: Arena will allow users to create, upload and have their maps voted on. You’ll be able to create 2p, 3p and 4p maps for true Battalion madness, and publish them for other Battalion gamers to vote on. You’ll have access to all terrain and unit types, as well as two map modes you can work within.

There’s the Classic Mode, which will allow you to build buildings and maps in the style of Battalion: Nemesis. But there’s also the new Blitz mode, that takes advantage of the new Warmachine combat method. You can create maps to your heart’s content, and test them instantly via the editor.

We’re pretty excited about the map editor. It takes a great game, and let’s the players make it greater.
